ACCOMODATION IN HOLBOX
Where to stay?
In Holbox, you have a wide range of accommodation options to choose from, ranging from Boutique Hotels to houses, apartments, hostels, campgrounds and Glampings. The choice will depend on your budget and the type of amenities or experience you are looking for. Before making a decision, here are some facts that might help you define where to stay.

PUNTA COCOS
Punta cocos is the new and most modern developed hotel area, although not many restaurants options compared to the other side of the island.
This area is booming since its beaches are quiet and because it is not overcrowded with hotels, it is possible to better appreciate bioluminescence in this area.
The only drawback is in the rainy season, since the streets become impassable and taxi drivers increase the fare extravagantly. Nothing that a walk along the beach cannot solve, in 30 minutes or less you can reach the center.
** The only thing that you may not be able to avoid is paying for the taxi to take you to the accommodation upon arrival, since going to that area with everything and suitcases, it is worth thinking.
CENTER
The area where most of the restaurants, bars, grocery and souvenir shops are located. Staying in this area may be convenient if you want to be close to all the movement, but if what you are looking for is tranquility and more nature, it would be to look elsewhere.
From the center to any of the ends of the island, you can walk without much problem, let's calculate a walk along the beach of 30-40 minutes depending on your pace, less time if you do this ride by bicycle or golf cart.
In the rainy season (summer) the center also suffers its mishaps, but at least it is not so affected.
PUNTA MOSQUITOS
Punta Mosquitos is the hotel area that has developed since the beginning of tourism on the island. Here you'll find hotels with traditional charm, as this area has long been a favorite destination. This area is known for its proximity to the sandbanks that form when the tide goes out, as well as the cozy seaside bars where you can relax and enjoy the views.
From Hotel Villas Flamingos to the center of the island, you can walk along the beach for approximately 20 minutes or a little longer, depending on your pace. During the rainy season, the waterfront streets in this area are usually less affected compared to other areas of the island.
